What "Best Picks" Means in Our Model
In our scoring system, a pick earns "best" status when it meets two conditions:
- Edge threshold: The model's probability advantage over the closing line exceeds our top-tier cut-off.
- Market confidence: The signal is derived from a market with sufficient liquidity to treat the closing line as a reliable reference.
Signals that pass both conditions appear in the top-rated band. All other signals with positive but smaller edge are shown in the standard picks board, and signals below the minimum threshold are not published.

Why Threshold Discipline Matters
Many prediction services prioritize volume — publishing picks for every match regardless of edge quality. This approach obscures signal quality and encourages overtrading. FutPicks takes the opposite stance: fewer, better signals.

Some matchdays have fewer high-value opportunities. Market efficiency varies — on days with many matches from well-covered leagues, the model may find several top-tier signals. On lighter matchdays or when market prices are tight, top picks may be absent entirely.
